Breakpoints that do not work in Visual Studio 2008

Question

When I press F5, my VS 2008 opens my site in IE and stops. There is no sign in VS that the project is running. It turns on the RUN button again, even if the site is open in IE. Therefore, my breakpoints also do not work.

This behavior suddenly started.

Any reasons why this happens and permissions?

Are you building in debug mode? Release builds do not support breakpoints ...
