I published an application using ClickOnce for about a year with relatively few problems.
This week I left the site, but I need to make some changes to the application and the way autoupdate works, so I publish in IIS my local machine, and not a regular distribution server for testing. The strangest thing is that since yesterday I began to receive a warning
Published version 2.1.3.18 already exists on the server, do you want to overwrite it
But the version that I am posting is beyond this (2.1.3.32 at the moment), so I should not get a warning at all.
Honestly, it doesn’t hurt, I can choose yes and publish it without any problems, but I would like to know what is happening. Somebody knows?
Thanks!
EDIT FOR DEVELOPMENT
2.1.3.18 is on the server, but I publish versions that exceed this version, so I should not be warned. The latest version published by me was 2.1.3.32.
The version number that I refer to above is the publication of the version on the Publish tab of VS2008, not the build version.
FURTHER INFORMATION
I just opened the MYApp.Application file with MageUI and it says that version is 2.1.3.18. I deleted the file, recompiled and published. The new file has the same version. However, when I look under my VS Publish tag, it says the deployment version is 2.1.3.33.
Where does VS get number 2.1.3.18 out of order for my manifest ??
