Create a registration form so that IE remembers the login information

The site of my company that I am developing requires a login using the form.

Firefox correctly requests and remembers login information, but test instances of IE6, IE7 do not remember either the username or password, and IE8 will provide a drop-down name for previously used usernames, but will not remember the password.

  • What is the design of my password form that allows or disables IE startup?
  • Can I change the design of my page so that IE remembers the username / password form data (if the user has correctly configured their settings)?
  • Is there some kind of magic HTML tag, name or style that I should use?

You can try to find a DOM repository for permanently storing the user name and password on the client side. This will require JavaScript, although it will not work in older versions of IE.

Try adding the sites that you are trying to get in the Local Intranet zone, and not in the Internet zone. (assuming this is not a security concern)

Tools / Options / Security / Intranet / Sites / Advanced → add your sites here. In my experience, putting them in a more secure Intranet zone, my passwords are remembered.
