The site of my company that I am developing requires a login using the form.
Firefox correctly requests and remembers login information, but test instances of IE6, IE7 do not remember either the username or password, and IE8 will provide a drop-down name for previously used usernames, but will not remember the password.
You can try to find a DOM repository for permanently storing the user name and password on the client side. This will require JavaScript, although it will not work in older versions of IE.
Try adding the sites that you are trying to get in the Local Intranet zone, and not in the Internet zone. (assuming this is not a security concern)
Tools / Options / Security / Intranet / Sites / Advanced → add your sites here. In my experience, putting them in a more secure Intranet zone, my passwords are remembered.
