What is the fastest way to get started with your Kohana PHP map?

I read that Kohana is good for my project. So now I want to start. My knowledge of PHP is 2 years old and very limited. But I am experiencing object-oriented programming and other patterns since I am developing in Objective-C. I know a little about databases.

People told me that the documentation in Cohan is terribly poor. So where to start as a beginner?

this is not the best way, but 1. I watched 2 training videos based on codeignitor and tried a small example 2. I switched to Kohana and tried the same and did not look back.

If you want to avoid the pain of setting up your source environment, I released a roaming developer environment with a basic Kohana 3.3.1 check. Jumping directly into code is usually the best way. Hope this helps.
