Good alternative control source for VS2005 and 2008 instead of VSS

I am currently using Visual SourceSafe, it is not easy for me to do this. What other people use, and does it a) integrate into Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. b) allow the migration path from Visual SourceSafe with full history / versions.

Check out GIT or SVN

Both are great version control systems.

We use SVN in our work, as there are several good clients (TortoiseSVN) for explorer and for integration with IDE (AnkhSVN or VisualSVN)
