What are the pros and cons of Git and Hg Version Control System?

Now I am able to choose which version control system, so I would like to get some comments from the developers who used them. Which should I use and in what condition?

Google Code recently chose Mercurial over Git for its system. In their analysis, they found that Mercurial

  • had a lighter learning curve
  • had good support for windows.
  • it was easier to maintain
  • faster than HTTP
