How to quickly get if a directory was changed using C ++ without a thread or monitoring process?

Question

This change includes adding or removing files in a directory or changing its subdirectories. Are there any window APIs that can get changes this way? I do not have a thread or process to monitor the file system.

I would try CDirectoryChangeWatcher , it wraps the ReadDirectoryChangesW windows, so it is easier to use.
