To support the OSI model right in my head, I came up with silly mnemonics:
P . D iddy N ever T akes S , P unk A ss!
(physical, data, network, transport, session, presentation, application)
Similarly, I first studied Perl, I changed (some) regular expression modifiers to:
SIXMOP GC
(as in 6 of what you use to clean the floor, and cleaning the floor goes hand in hand with garbage collection)
Perhaps this may seem a little off topic, but novice programmers flock to this site for help, and mnemonic devices are a great tool for someone who is just learning new technology.
Does anyone else have any convenient mnemonics that have helped them over the years (or at least worth laughing at)?
