Blackberry scripting development?

From what I saw, the preferred way to develop Blackberry applications is Java. Is this the only way?

I dream of a fast application environment where you can create graphical interfaces (using the Blackberry user interface components).

Something like the Tcl / Tk port on Blackberry ... or Python / Tkinter ... or something new, but similar.

Is there something similar? (I doubt)

Could something like this exist? (i.e. taking into account money, is this possible / reasonable / ...)

If you can use Java / J2ME, you can always use Hecl: www.hecl.org

There are at least two Lua implementations for J2ME / CLDC. I can personally confirm that at least Kahlua works for BlackBerry:
