Question

Can I run reports created by ColdFusion Report Designer on CFMX7?

More specifically, is it possible to change the reporting engine in CF7 to CF8?

I think this can be difficult to do. I remember that there were changes in the reports between CF7 and CF8, which meant that the interaction between the libraries also evolved.

I am going back and forth between using Report Builder and creating html reports where it gets too complicated for CFRB.

Have you considered using Java Reporting? There are excellent libraries that can do what you are looking for .. for free.
