How to update the Windows 7 start menu from the NSIS installer?

I have an installation program (NSIS) that creates shortcuts on the Start menu. When I uninstall the uninstall program, the folder with:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\

Unfortunately, the folder is still on the Start menu. Perhaps this is just a matter of updating the Start menu - but how to do this from the NSIS uninstaller?

Win7 probably does the same thing as Vista and copies / moves shortcuts to all startup menus of all users without telling you. Stop this using RequestExecutionLevel in the script.

See http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Shortcuts_removal_fails_on_Windows_Vista
