An alternative to the Microsoft Security application block?

Question

We need to implement role-based protection in our solution, which has asp.net, winforms, and web service entry points. To configure it, we also need an interface. I really do not want to ride on my own, I did it several times earlier, and it is tiring.

I have not historically been a fan of MS AB, because I found that they were above architecture and inadequately tested for unit, but I did not touch them for several years.

Is Security AB a worthwhile look or should I use an alternative? What would you recommend?
