The built-in QTCreator form editor will not load custom widget plugins (Designer does)

Trying to use the form editor integrated into QTCreator, but even when I place my plugin in QtCreator.app/Contents/MacOS/designer, it does not appear. However, the same dylib file works with a stand-alone design application.

QTCreator version information: QTCreator 1.1.0 (based on QT version 4.5.1) Designer version information: Version 4.5.1

Any clues? This web page: http://labs.trolltech.com/page/Projects/Tools/QtCreator/FAQ , suggested that I have a version problem, but it seems to be nutty because I use "clean" 4.5 (clean install and all that) ...

Did you specify the links to the plugin builder correctly? Try

otool -L /path/to/plugin/dylib

in the plugin binary and see if it can correctly reference Qt libs, assuming @executable_path is a design binary

In QT 4.7, QT Designer plugins must be copied to / qt -install-dir / plugins / designer. Please note that plugins should be created as a release, not debugged!
