Visual Studio Auto Copy File When Saving

Is there a way for the visual studio to automatically copy the files that I save in the project to another location? I'm not looking for version control functionality, more on the principle of "automatic deployment." I work on my local machine, but I want the files to be automatically uploaded to my development block every time I edited them. Is there any way to do this?

It seems that you are not looking for a post-build procedure because you want every save (every time you touch the file) to call this process.

  • rsync . ftp, ssh ( , ).

You can use .net cruise control in your dev block, but you really need to have source control for this. After you register the application, cruise control will track the changes and build in your dev block. You may need to configure MSBuild to copy output files or start / stop services, etc.

Regarding build events, etc., you can consider the following.

MSBUILD NANT RAKE (this is what I'm using right now.)
