Configuring asp.net affects classic asp (IIS 6 settings)

My company has some classic asp sites and is developing new sites in asp.net, and every time we create a new site in IIS 6, all sites go down for a couple of seconds. Therefore, I am going to change the default version of ASP.NET to 2.x, since this is what we are developing, and I wondinger if these settings somehow affect the classic asp sites that run on the same IIS

They are all versions of asp.net 1.1, but we have to get around this all-sites-down every time we add a new site to IIS.

Any warnings? What I need to know, etc.

Thanks a lot.

All sites reset when changing the site version. Therefore, it is recommended that you change the default value to the one you add most.

The default value will not affect existing sites, .net, classic or otherwise.

The only problems you may encounter is that you cannot run the virtual application 1.1 on the 2.0 site.

In addition, you cannot run different versions in the same application pool. Therefore, you must change the default application pool in the same way as changing the default version.

As an aside, I read some command line parameters and other settings, which mean that you can change the version of the site without calling all iis to reset. However, I did not succeed personally.
