Visual Studio 2010 CTP expiration works around

I downloaded CTP VS2010 from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=922B4655-93D0-4476-BDA4-94CF5F8D4814&displaylang=en

It took some time to download and install naturally, and after starting up in Virtual PC, I was disappointed that it had expired, even though it was still available for download.

Then I began to research what I needed to do to make it work outside of it. End date is January 1, 2009. I looked at this:

http://blogs.msdn.com/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2007/11/28/disabling-time-synchronization-under-virtual-pc-2007.aspx

.. But the instructions mention changing the settings in the VMC file.

The problem is that I searched for the file and there is no such tag in it.

I tried to get my watch back on my host system before starting the VPC, but that didn't work either.

Any suggestion to anyone? I am wondering why MS leaves the CTP 2010 download page if it makes no sense to install it. Is there a more modern version?

These instructions work - you need to insert an additional tag in the configuration file; this is not to start with.

I suspect that the reason they leave it is because people can download it. :)

Before attempting the setup again, you may have to start working with the virtual machine again in a state in which it never started, so you should unpack it from the boot files again.
