SVN to ZIP on the fly

Question

I installed VisualSVN on my Windows 2003 server and configured it for anonymous read access. From my understanding, VisualSVN just uses apache and the official SVN repository server under it.

Now I would like to expand the SVN web page to provide the HEAD as ZIP download functionality. Web portals such as SourceForge and Codeplex provide this feature.

Is there a plugin for the SVN storage server for this? Or maybe a separate web client (preferably ASP.NET)?

TortoiseSVN registers some kind of plug-in protocol that browsers recognize. svn: // blahblahblah ... you could study this. But then you need to use TortoiseSVN ...
