I searched all day today and found a gazillion (well, a few dozen) Bug Trackers, some free, some hosted, some very expensive. I quickly realize that I don’t have time to spend evaluating them (especially since many of them have so many functions that we will never use).
Here is my list of modest requirements (at least I think they are modest):
- Low cost (or free): let's say a range of $ 100 +/-, or $ 10 + / - / month for placement
- PHP / MySql based (if we belong) - hosted, everything is fine
- Easy installation (FTP, then setting up the database, then editing the config.php file)
- Just the basics (please submit / update / register errors)
- A decent mechanism for registering / searching keywords / search
Anything else (e.g. wiki, email, forums, graphics, etc. - not needed). We already have a support service (HelpSpot), so there is no need for this part.
I believe that I myself could write quick or just create pages on our internal wiki, but does this light weight not exist in the world of bug tracking? I am not opposed to a rating of 3 or 4, which are close to the above requirements, if any of you have a good recommendation.
Many thanks -

First suggestions for FogBugz and Bugzilla. I looked at both, and although they are both very nice (especially FogBugz), they have too many functions for our needs. What I'm looking for (if it exists) is something more substantial. Thanks ~
