How to install nano-hmac on mac os x?

"nano-hmac" is a Haskell package that can usually be installed using Cabal. However, Mac OS X has a different OpenSSL library than the one it expects, so it cannot compile bindings.

I can install the openssl version from openssl.org, but I'm not sure how to tell Cabal to use this instead of the Mac OS X version.

macports has its own openssl, ghc and hs-cabal. Have you tried installing everything through macports?
