Find and Replace will slow down in Visual Studio 2008

I have a solution that has only 1 project, with approximately 30 class files. If I use "Find and Replace" to search in the document that is currently opening, it is lightning fast, but if I try to search the entire solution, it seems to take 3-4 seconds between each result. Even if there are coincidences next to each other, what I see is another 3-4-second lag. The hard drive does nothing, and the processor is idle - what can cause this stall?

Use "find in files" as it is significantly faster.

Bad program and code from MS. If you use Resharper or similar tools, you will see that this can be done much faster. Not that I received anything for the recommendation, but if you learn how to use Resharper (a commercial add-on), you can save so much time, not only search and replace, but also many other difficult daily programming tasks.
