Exchange source code between machines

What is the best way to share a source on local machines?

I am working on a cross platform project with svn repository. I am testing on the same platform (possibly osx) and making changes. Then I have to test my modified code on other platforms (xp, vista, ...) before checking it. Manually copying files between machines or starting everything from a network drive is a pain ... what are my best options?

You can also create a branch for yourself in SVN. You can then register at your branch, check the branch code on all test machines, and when you are satisfied, use the SVN branch merge tool to merge all your changes stored in the branch into a trunk.

You can try to create a branch in the repository only for your own changes. Make changes to the branch, commit the changes, then check the branch on other platforms and check it. If everything works, combine the branch with the trunk.
