How to implement profanity filter in RoR?

I am developing a social web application with RoR. I realized that it was probably a good idea to prevent users from embedding rude or obscene language in comments or posts.

Do you know any solution or plugin that helps me prevent something like this?

I recently wrote a gem called NoNo , which is designed to solve this exact problem.

This is probably not the most reliable, but it seems like a trick for me.
