Can I install 2008 SQLExpress with 2005 SQLExpress?

Can I have a 2005 SQLExpress instance and a SQLExpress 2008 server running on my machine?

Both accesses will be available through the 2008 Management Console. Currently, I have installed express tools, but my office recently acquired a full license for 2008. Is it due to an improved console? And if so, can I just install these tools or do I need to remove the express console first?

What a ridiculous coincidence, I just did the right thing 30 minutes ago. There are no errors yet. In addition, protocols and services coexist with each other. You must specify an identifier for the new installation, which should be different from the old SQLExpress installation. I decided to name the new instance "SQLExpress2008", which is now listed next to the previous instance "SQLExpress".

Everything seems fine, although I have to admit that I'm an amateur when it comes to Microsoft SQLExpress. I hope that the answer to your question, if you have any specific problems, I could take a look at them.
