If there is one thing that I hate in SQL Server, these are terribly useless error messages. My favorite is "The incorrect syntax is near ..." because it almost doesn’t suggest what is wrong.
Are there any tools to better understand what is wrong with the expression? Or does anyone have other useful hints for identifying such errors?
Hm ... You can double-click the error message in SQL Management Studio and go to the position where the error occurred.
