JPG, DOC, PDF files, etc. Also compiled into assembly?

Q1:

• Does aspnet_compiler.exethe assembly (s) compile all the files contained within the website directory, even JPG, DOC and PDF types?

• If you add images to the list of files (adding them to the project file) in your web project, will these images also be compiled VS into the assembly?

Q2:

When it aspnet_compiler.execompiles the application into assembly (s), it also compiles resources and web links.

• I'm not sure I understand what is meant by the Web Link Network. What do text links say on the Internet?
• The text also mentions that resources are also compiled. What files are considered a resource? Just nonASP.Net files like JPG, DOC etc.?
