How do I change the "Summary view" in the SharePoint list web part?

I use the Announcements list on the team website, and I display the list on the page using the list web part. I like the fact that the summary view trims the body of each item in the list, but I would like to display an additional column in the summary view. Is there a way to do this without using SharePoint Designer?

You can show additional information by modifying the web part, clicking "Change current view" and adding an additional column. This will appear below the text of your body. If this is not required, you will need SharePoint Designer.
