VS 2008 designer not installed for xaml

there is no editor for c: ...... \ Page1.xaml make sure that the application for the file type (.xaml) is installed

I don’t know what the problem is.

I tried to find the devenv.exe file, but I can not find it anywhere! I installed sp1. I also completely uninstalled vs2008 and .net framework 3.5 and reinstalled it. doesn't solve it.

some more background: I installed it last week and it worked fine, tried to install the SQL server 2008 dev, but it won’t install client tools because it didn’t like something with vs 2008, so I unistalled vs 2008 and SQL Server 2008 is installed without problems. then I reinstalled vs2008, and then my problem happened!

In addition to Jose's answer, I will try the following in order. One of them should solve the problem.

• devenv / resetSkipPkgs
• Go to the menu "Add Programs" and "Fix the installation of Visual Studio"
