I wrote an application that receives media files from a central server and plays these files according to the playlist. Everything works well. A client has contacted us and wants to use our application to play some audio files in the form of presentations in an application in the style of kiosks. So far, so good, our application can handle this without a problem.
He requested, as a potential opportunity, that we would have several headphone jacks in front of the kiosk. Each headphone jack will play the same audio presentation in a different language.
I came up with the idea of encoding one audio file with a presentation in several languages and each language in another channel. Then we need a sound card that can decode each channel and output it to another headphone jack. The fact is that although I think the theory sounds, I absolutely do not know if this is possible and what it will take to film it.
Any ideas ?!
As a note: the application uses Media Player as the main component for processing audio and video playback. I would appreciate any help regarding the software that we could use to create the multi-channel audio stream and the hardware (the USB sound card would be great) that we could use to decode the stream. Thanks!
