Does adding an operation to a WCF service contract mean that the entire WCF client needs to update its links?

I will be more specific.

Suppose I have a contract defined for my WCF service. And I have two different WCF clients that reference this service: "ClientA" and "ClientB".

Now let's say I want to add an operation (method) to my service that only the “Client” will use. Suppose I added this operation to the contract, and “ClientB” updated its link, and we are all happy. Does the client also need to update the link, even if it is not using a new operation?
