How to implement boxes with sentences like intellisense for winforms textbox?

We have a text box in which the user enters a lot of terms, separated by commas and separated by newline characters. Thousands of valid terms may exist, so we would like to suggest intellisense style suggestions as we type them. Auto-complete by default is not adequate, because it will only perform prefix matching in the entire text field and will not support multi-line text fields. How to implement boxes with sentences like intellisense for winforms textbox?

I wrote this article back in 2005 on how to do intellisense with a list and a text box control (or maybe it was RTB). This is far from polished or perfect, but can help you get started.

I do just that using the Infragistics UltraCombo component . Unfortunately, this is not free.
