Active Directory - Django / Rails

Question

I am thinking of rewriting a web application in Django or Rails and wondering about authentication against AD. Is one ecosystem more suitable for this (libraries, etc.) Or is it tossed?

(the application will be hosted on Linux)

I have many reasons for rewriting, one of them is to make me more accessible. Does anyone want to comment on which of these structures has the best long-term prospects for a new programmer? (I already read StackOverflow streams, but I ask just in case that something new has appeared).
