Does WinForms open pop-up user control as a drop-down menu?

Search everywhere and cannot find a way to do this.

I have a menu at the top of my winforms program. Now he just appears the usual menuitem menu. I would like to disable this menu and the pop-up window with nice user control, which looks like a drop-down menu for this menu item, but includes a lot more settings. A good example is the gnome menu bar in OpenSuse or the Start menu in Vista.

Can someone point me to a tutorial or help me find a way to do this?

Now I know that as long as menuitem has no sub-items, the menu will not be displayed, which is what I want to do, but I would like to simulate this menu using my own usercontrol when I click this menu item.

Thanks!!!

I had to add my own tracklist to the toolbar recently, which is related to getting ToolStripControlHost . I assume that you will need to do something similar, like MenuStrip is the output of ToolStrip .

MSDN ToolStripControlHost, CodeProject ToolStripDropDownButton.
