Using Visual Studio 2008 and 2005 in the Same Group

We have a team against 2005. We want to upgrade to 2008, but we want to do it gradually. If we have several people on the team upgrade to 2008 (still focused on the 2.0 framework), while others working on the same solutions remain at the 2005 level, this will cause any problems.

  • Can the solution or project files change because of this?
  • Are there any backward compatibility issues for the solution or other conflicts that will lead to a big update for the team?

Why do you want to update the increment? You can target .NET 2.0 while working with Visual Studio 2008.
