Is there a way besides Mono to run Microsoft.NET on Mac or Linux?

Currently, I am deprived of any Windows machine, and Mono does not launch my application. Is there any other way that can get around any reason why Mono will not work? (At the moment, I have no error message.)

Besides virtualization, no. If you have hardware, I would recommend VMware .

You can try running the .NET Framework under Wine . I would not expect much, and the only version that got the Gold rating was 2.0.

If you need Linux compatibility, check out VirtualBox or VMWare. Both have free versions for Linux (the free VMWare server is available for free). If you go with Virtual Box or VMWare on Mac and Linux, you can bypass the same VM files instead of having a Windows virtual machine to run on a Mac and a Windows virtual machine to run on Linux (not to mention the cost of licensing the availability of two copies of windows).
