What is a good QuickTime API tutorial for MS Windows?

I am working on a project that is supposed to read and process QuickTimes on Windows. Unfortunately, all the tutorials and sample code on the Apple website seem to be heavily dependent on the Mac. Is there a good resource on the Internet that specifically deals with QuickTime programming for Windows? Yes, I know that I can puff my way (eventually) through Mac stuff and, ultimately, get something to work, but I would really like to see a treatment for the cleanest and best way to deal with it on Windows and what is needed to beware.

For additional purposes, it would be great to see how someone can use the QuickTime API from a dynamic language such as REBOL or Python (no, QuickTime bindings for Mac Python are not taken into account!).

Thanks!

QuickTime for Windows starts with the differences between Mac OS and Windows and Creating QuickTime features in a Windows application , then discusses how to enable this feature in a Windows platform

I started a Google code project with QuickTime code for Windows at code.google.com/p/qtip . The idea is to structure things in a semi-educational style (as I myself study this material!), So that others can learn from my pain ...
