IPhone Ideas for iPhone?

I am interested in creating an iPhone application for my day job as a home project for exploring iPhone development. I’m wondering how many companies are doing enterprise iPhone applications (for internal use or for use by customers). Does anyone have examples of how companies make iPhone apps?

How to do it for Windows Mobile? It has the best image for corporate use, and users can select devices from many vendors.
