How to change the form on the sharepoint site?

I have a task that I need to perform for a friend as a service, to change some forms on the MOSS / Sharepoint website to add some javascript to each form for some SEO tracking purposes.

I had a little influence on Sharepoint, but mostly using the Sharepoint Designer 2007 tool.

I can go to the site and I can see the content in Sharepoint Designer. However, I cannot see the forms, and I am a bit stuck.

Here is an example of the form I need to change: http://www.MY_SITE_GOES_HERE.com/forms/covg_order.aspx

I read a little on the Internet, but I'm stuck. I donโ€™t know if they are info forms or what. I just need to change the forms.

Is there a simple answer to this problem? Or a good resource to quickly speed up this task?

I am not a sharepoint expert, so well in advance for answering a simple question.

Although hardly the easiest approach, but since this is a developer's site, I would recommend creating a DelegateControl application to add to your site. Using DelegateControls has several advantages, for example:

  • ability to selectively activate and deactivate controls using functions
  • no need to modify any ready-made files that may break support
  • the ability to display different content on each page

Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer is now free since April 1, 2009. This is a good tool not only for changing individual pages, but also for entire sites.
