End the file in reverse

To open a file in vim, I usually type ": e" and then click on the tab until the file I want appears.

However, I always get in rhythm and inadvertently go ONE past the desired file. Not knowing how to move in the opposite direction, I finish everything to the end and repeat the whole process.

Is there a way to complete the file name in reverse order?
