BlackBerry UI Programming Resources

I am new to programming Blackberry and Java in general. I have previous experience with C, C ++, VB and many others. However, this is my first foray into the Java world.

I found a lot of information about MIDP classes, but if possible I would rather use my own RIM API, especially for interface elements. In particular, I am considering using a MIDP form element to customize my screen layout, but I don't know if this is the best option. Or is there a Blackberry solution for this? If I use a MIDP form element, will it display like a native Blackberry app? Or will it look like a MIDP application?

Also, does anyone have a good resource for special training programs and BB samples? The most difficult part of the launch is the lack of information about newcomers.

There is a guy who publishes here who runs a good intro when using the RIM API.

MIDP will look like MIDP.

There is also a reasonable set of links.

and this is also a support forum.

There are many good tutorials and examples in the RIM API in the Blackberry development zone:

BlackBerry MIDP.

In any case, you should stick with your own BlackBerry components. They are more complicated, easier to use in the future. Moreover, it looks better on BlackBerry devices.
