I did a quick google around and found nothing, but I feel like I have to ask. I don’t expect that there will be anything, but I would rather ask a question without answers, than ask a question when everything goes wrong, and find out that EVERYONE knew about "gotcha" ...!
To facilitate the general support / development of life (and bring in madExcept, etc.), I am going to take a semi-graphical application written in D5 (using NativeDB to connect to ASA6) and port it to D2007, eventually turn it to the console application and / or service. (A true graphical interface is more than just a start / stop slide button and activity log).
This is a classic TServerSocket application, listening on a specific port and running to do different things when connecting clients. I do not expect big problems with NativeDB, but I wondered if there were any changes (bug fixes, improvements) between D5 and D2007 to TServerSocket?
We do not use blocking sockets, Indy, etc. - it’s just TServerSocket from the scktcomp block, right out of the box of D5 Enterprise. I don’t want to change the code significantly if there wasn’t anything very bad in TS200Socket under D2007. :-)
