Is there a tool that will tell you what you are doing wrong?

No. This part of the fun of programming. It is not possible for a computer program to look at a code fragment and finally determine that all errors are.

Are there any tools that can tell me some things that my program does wrong?

NDepend is fully integrated in VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010. That way, you can simply point NDepend to the sln you want to analyze, and NDepend will build a complete report for you.

In a few clicks, you can visualize which types depend on which types, etc. This obviously does not magically solve all your problems, but it will probably lead you to the right path.
