The best constantly updated resource about python web "plumbing"

I am a Python programmer who works in web applications. I know a little about application level. But not so much about the basic "plumbing" that I have to configure, or debug.

I think of everything: from using memcached to flup, fcgi, WSGI, etc.

When searching for information about this on the Internet, Google usually provides old documents (for example, tutorials before 2007), fragments of problems that may or may not be resolved, etc.

Are there any good comprehensive and up-to-date resources to learn how to build a modern high-performance server? One that explains both the principles of architecture and the actual packages?
