Resize UITableView on RootController

Question

Can I resize a UITableView on a RootController based navigation app? When RootViewController.xib opens in IB, there is no view. Only UITableView. By clicking on the inspector, and then on the small yellow ruler, the height of the frame is gray. I add a toolbar programmatically in the RootViewController:

[toolbar setFrame:rectArea];

This works fine, but the bottom cell in the form of a table is partially hidden because the tableview does not know about the toolbar.
