Image of a graphic demonstration of a car grinding a track

I plan to create an application that will provide a video of the car on the track (as well as a demo version of the game, such as RACE Pro), and show its characteristics.

For example, if the user selects a poor machining car, then a graphical demonstration of this car will be shown, completing a circle around a simulated track with the behavior of the car depending on its characteristics (for example, a tendency to skid, understeer).

I know that this is a rather difficult task, and I am not going to code it right away. What issues / topics affect this requirement? I saw many books on physics in the field of programming and modeling of the engine / 3d modeling and rendering. Do they fit this?

This is certainly an important event, but as a starting point, you can see the Racer project . This is a very detailed simulation of car racing, very customizable for various car settings and has a public source code for its engine (see the Download page).

Books about physics and game programming are absolutely relevant for this. Fortunately, there are several free, free, open source projects that can help you with this project. I have cited some of them below.

Physics:

3D graphics:

, .

Blender , Bullet. , 3D-. Python ( script Blender ).

Racer TORCS - Open Racing Car Simulator, Open Source .
