SSRS 2005 report auto-rendering

I created several SSRS 2005 reports and provided a number of parameters for each. Each of the parameters has default values, so the report is automatically displayed when someone visits the report through the SSRS website.

I would like all reports to have their default values, but to prevent the report from automatically displaying. I looked online and I did not see anything but people claiming it was impossible. I hope to see some expert advice on this subject for a method to prevent automatic rendering of reports without the need to develop a web user interface.

Any thoughts?

Does anyone know if this behavior is different in SSRS 2008?

Oddly enough, I had the same problem in one of my reports. You must have at least one parameter that is not tied to the default value to achieve this effect, otherwise it is not possible, as you suggested.

Prevent auto-start for SSRS 2008 R2 using the visible Text parameter:

Create a parameter with: DateType=Text, "Allow Blank"=True, "Allow Null"=False, "Visibility"=True, "Available Values"=None, "Default Value"=No default value.
