Practical Guide: Ajax Button Support

I have an asp.net ajax website, it is full of things that happen on one page without reloading the page, such as sorting entries, paging, ... When the user goes to another page on the same site and click the "Back in browser" button , how can I get the browser to save the state of the page in order to return to it with the selected parameters, such as the sort option, the page number in the paging.

I knew that the new .net 3.5 has a history control, but it does not work on one page during the transition from page to another. I am also looking for a solution that works in all browsers.

Thanks,

You don't need 3.5 to manage your story, check out ScottGu's blog here

You do what the previous plugin offers. I take under the hood, this is what happens. For example, when your asynchronous response returns to the client side, make a JavaScript call to window.location = 'somePage.aspx # anchor1' (the old HTML anchor for the school), then the next asynchronous callback on the client will do window.location = 'somePage .aspx # anchor2 ', etc. GMail does this when redirecting your inbox or other shortcuts or folders in your email.

Hope this helps, Nick
