I want to develop and run the application through the iPhone App Store. The system will consist of Cocoa -touch’s native iPhone application, as well as access to the https web service. The iphone application will be useless without access to the web service.
I foresee numerous problems associated with this, being in the conditions of Apple:
1 - The paid application will include a fixed period (1 month) of access to the web service. How can one of my customers buy a monthly renewal without going through the downloadable App Store program to replenish their server?
2 - I understand that the App Store does not provide customer sales information. So, if the paid version of my application came into circulation in the Jailbroken community, how could my web service distinguish access from real customers of App Store v. Ripped client installs?
Update 1:
Thanks to everyone. I did not choose a specific answer as the best solution, because it is not a technical question. It seems I will have to join the $ 99 Apple developer program and try to get a response directly from Apple.
Re. replenishment request, my current thinking is a separate download of the App Store program, which simply pings my main application through the URI message protocol for IP messages for the delivery of a credit token.
