Update to SVN 1.5

From little to understand, svn 1.5 provides much better support for merge operations. Therefore, I am considering upgrading from svn 1.4. The repository is in the local file (more or less), and I use svn from the command line.

What obstacles can I expect and how does svn 1.5 process an existing repository without merge data?

edit In particular, after I started svnadmin upgrade, how will the svn command be processed from the branches that were last merged in the 1.4 era?

And is it related svn-populate-node-origins-indexto this?
