Finding an Alpha Support MsPaint Alternative

In our code base, I write many things that are image-dependent for testing. Im load have alpha. Usually I do all my own tests / programmers in MsPaint. But every time I need an image with alpha, I have to go and bother one of our artists. (Or start downloading GIMP and go for a coffee break.)

So, I'm looking for alternatives that are as fast and simple as MsPaint, but which have alpha support. I tried GIMP, but the time taken to download this behemoth makes it not an option.

Is there any middle ground software between mspaint and gimp? From the views of my search robot and Wikipedia search, most raster graphic editors tend to become an alternative to Photoshop.

Paint.Net is a simple and easy alternative that gives you a bit more features than MSPaint, without having to download big heavy monsters (or read 500 page manuals).

As far as I can tell, it supports Alpha very well, as well as many other features that may be required for non-artist graphics.

Paint.net

This is basically what you ask for. Not hardcore like Photoshop, more advanced than Paint.

.NET Framework, Windows ( Mono, ), , , Paint, , Windows.
