And here we go to my first question, not directly related to programming, on SO!
It seems that I am suffering from an excessive amount of static buildup (electrical type, not type modifier). This, of course, is manifested in the fact that I keep myself terrified of me at almost any time when I touch everything that even thinks it is justified. Not kidding, my days usually go like this:
Wake up, you may get a shocked press of the snooze button. Touch the light in my bedroom, usually in shock. Walk down the corridor to my office, touch this fire key, in shock. Sit down at the computer, touch the case (usually it does). Get out of the door, get in the car (Zap). Move to work, get out of the car (close the door). Go to the office, hammer the door frame ...
It's not so bad, I suppose, but I'm easily shocked 10-20 times a day, from everything from my chair to the dog to my wife (let me tell you how much she likes her). Just today, I was frying my second mouse using zapping (but this time I had a replacement plan! Haha!). I used to close my cars with the entire electrical system, just shutting the doors. (STILL electric locks do not work correctly). Of course, none of me seems to have this problem, and it was getting worse. I am thinking about programming and becoming a supervisor. (The Shocker!)
So here is my question (s):
1) What can I do, can it cause me excessive static behavior? I understand that this is a broad question, but I can’t think of anything that I am doing that would provoke this. (I don’t shuffle my legs when I walk or something else). I generally, what are its common causes?
2) Does the SO team have any recommendations for its management, ESPECIALLY with respect to computer hardware. I suppose I could hold a static bracelet at my desk, but the idea of constantly being tied to a power outlet when calculating is not a very happy thing ...
Any suggestions?
